Conference Objectives

 

The conference is focused on updating clinicians on the changing practice of trauma. The program consists of lectures and panel case discussions. A minimum of four hours of conferencing will occur daily. The official language for the conference is English. The themes covered this year will be:

 

 

 

Invited Speakers

 

An extensive Australasian faculty will also be presenting on contemporary issues in trauma management. Many of the invited speakers are from tertiary trauma centres including the Royal Melbourne and Alfred Hospitals. A detailed program will be updated and published on this website periodically.

 

Venue: Rusutsu, Japan

 

Rusutsu is situated 79km west of Sapporo close to Niseko and the extinct volcano Mt Yotei. The Rusutsu Resort Hotel is a fully serviced resort with conference facilities. Restaurants, shopping malls, entertainment complexes, swimming and wave pool, spas and a merry-go-round are all within the resort. Accommodation is available at the Resort Hotel or Rusutsu Towers which is connected to the main resort by monorail. Both properties offer excellent accommodation with spacious rooms and great views.

 

Travel, transfers & accommodation

Snowave Travel (www.snowave.com) has been appointed the official agency for the ‘Hokkaido Trauma’ conference. Early reservation is advisable.

Snowave Travel has exclusive block accommodation bookings for the Rusutsu resort, and has reserved seats on various airlines from Australia and New Zealand to Sapporo (New Chitose Airport). In addition Snowave is coordinating a “social program” which includes a day trip to Niseko and an authentic Japanese Cultural Tour. All reservations should be made prior to October 2009.
